What's New at The Tucker Inn?

The Outdoor Dining Room

outdoor dining roomThose of you who've previously visited The Tucker Inn may remember the deep worry lines blemishing the innkeeper's face whenever rain was forecast for the morning hours.

Although we'd upgraded our services to include our full gourmet breakfast, we didn't have a dining room, just our wonderful outside garden. As long as it wasn't raining and wasn't cold, that worked fine.

Those worry lines were doing nothing for me. And now they're gone or at least one cause of them has eroded. Last year, we completed the work on our outdoor dining room, featuring an all season awning canopy, ceiling fan to provide cool breezes, and electric quartz heating to extend our outdoor season throughout our operating months. Our guests hate getting up from the table now.

Did you say you wanted eggs instead?

breakfast areaWe've been doing a full gourmet breakfast for three years. We rotate our menu featuring all the regulars plus several of our own innovations. But there have been days when we've been featuring something like Belgian Waffles and some of our carb conscious guests have had to decline our prepared entree. - No longer!

We're going to continue the tradition of having a daily featured entree but guests will now have the option of ordering eggs prepared any style, any day of the week. We want you to start the day satisfied and happy.

Care to chill?

garden areaOur landscaped gardens are second to none in Ptown. Last summer we added the meditation garden centered around our Koi pond and growing collection of Asian sculpture. It also features some amazingly comfortable Adirondack chairs.

This year, we finished renovating the  garden by installing new all season decking and adding some of the nicest all season wicker furniture.  So, sit back, watch people soak or have Colby entertain you.

Flat Panel TV's

We put in new flat panel TVs in all our guest rooms. We like the look, enjoy the space that's saved, and who has time for those big clunky TVs anymore? DVD players will be added to the rooms over the season.

Updated room decors

room interiorNow that we're completing our garden renovations and have redecorated the living room and other common areas, we're turning our attention to the guestrooms. For 2006, we redecorated rooms 3 and 4 with warm colors, designer throws, and Asian influences as well as canopy beds.  This fall (2006) we're adding Vermont Castings gas fired wood stoves to the living room and rooms 5 and 6 upstairs.  Over the winter, we'll be redecorating rooms 1 and 7 so stay in touch for more new looks and furnishings.

Wireless Internet

We've got high speed free wireless Internet throughout the inn. I'm an Internet/email addict, I can't live without it and I don't think our guests should either.
